Well, at least I didn't despite hours in the sun yesterday. We had a field trip to Onward Beach Park yesterday - crazy fun! I'd do it again!
The kids were just so cute and it was nice to be with them outside the classroom setting. It was very worrisome on my part because I had three children under my supervision (two whose parents/guardians showed up more than 3 hours late!). But thankfully, they were mindful of my expectations - stay with me at all times, do not leave my side without informing me, always keep track of where I am ... you get the drift, right? But I have to admit that 50% of the time was spent watching as much as I could with a hawk's eye. I found myself keeping track of each child and I must've said "So-and-so, I'm right here, okay?" and "Don't leave this area without letting me know!" and "Where's so-and-so?" dozens of times!!
We had fun though. When the two kids were released, I had my one child (the one who has been identified by special ed, too; the one I wrote about in another entry that PEE'D on another child and got suspended for hitting another girl) with me for the rest of the day. Anyway, I was very reluctant to watch the boy at first. He's always getting in trouble at school and has difficulty distinguishing right from wrong.
But surprisingly enough, he didn't give me any problems - which was not what I expected! Yuck though ... we decided to go into this part of the park which has a steady current and just float lazily through (it goes around the whole park - very relaxing). Anyway, I had my boy in a donut (floater) while I held on to it and guided him with me. At one point, he tells me he needs the bathroom. So I get behind him and start pushing him towards the stairs. Once we reach land, I tell him to go use the restroom and come straight to me when he was done. His response? "I don't need it anymow." (He can't pronounce his r's). I frowned for a minute and opened my mouth to ask why not when it finally registered. HE PEE'D IN THE POOL ON THE WAY TO THE STAIRS!!! WHAT'S WORSE, I WAS RIGHT BEHIND HIM!!! My only solace is the knowledge that the current was pushing perpindicular to us and hopefully, it followed it .... but eeew! I'm sure I got some on me! So straight to the shower I went!
Geez!! I should've known better but darnit! EEEWWW!
Anyway, I didn't get sunburned or tanned, which is totally NOT what I expected! I thought I'd be mad dark from all that sun. Hmmm ... I better get the brand of that Sunblock I used (one of the kids let me have some because teacher did not come prepared with any). We did, however, discover rashes on my back.
I'd forgotten that I get rashes from prolonged exposure to the sun. I didn't even know until Reggie pointed them out last night while I was getting dressed. It wasn't until that moment that I felt them itching (go figure!) and couldn't help scratch. Reggie had to physically stop me and apply cream (I'm on medication for excema - yep, I have excema!).
Reg and I plan on going to the park - yay! Maybe I can set something up with The Gang so we could all enjoy ourselves. It's been a while since Reg and I did anything recreational of that nature and yesterday was the first time in years I'd gone swimming! Not that I know how to swim. Yes, yes, I know, I live on an island.
Watched Star Wars: Ep. III, LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!! Joe, you lied! Jar Jar was in the movie!!! LOL!
Can't standamay himsay! Who'da known pig-latin was a language in that galaxy? Anyway, it's a shame to see the saga come to an end. If you haven't already, you must watch it!
Bye for now!
